coller
A brand of hyogu art created by Kyohyogu Onozawa, aims to set the standard for the future.
One of Japanese traditional crafts, “Kyohyogu”.
Traditional beauty has been inherited and preserved through various rules and regulations regarding materials and tailoring methods.
It is no exaggeration to say that its beauty has been perfected.
Such is the “technique” of the artist.
I thought it would be interesting to combine all of them into an original piece of art.
“coller” was born from this concept.
The word “coller” means “to paste” in French.
I would like everyone to enjoy the free world of art presented by a specialist in “pasting”.
A number of products named Hyogu Art deliver a healing space that is new but nostalgic.
Coller’s artworks are made of Japanese paper such as karakami and textile fabrics such as Nishijin brocade, using the traditional technique of “Urauchi” (backing) and are formed by various methods of putting the papers with glue. It is a traditional technique used by hyogu-shi.
The artworks are created by combining not only Japanese materials but also fabrics and papers from all over the world, such as African prints and batik, to create new expressions.
